Smart Devices

Nutrition status, measured not guessed

Malnutrition hides at both ends of the scale — undernutrition and central obesity alike. This device turns a tape measure and a weighing scale into a structured, AI-assisted nutritional screening with a report the clinician can act on.

The malnutrition assessment device performs quick, non-invasive nutritional screening using anthropometric measurements — weight and height, mid-upper-arm circumference (MUAC), waist, hip, calf, thigh, head and chest circumference — captured digitally in seconds.

Integrated AI evaluates the measurements against WHO/ICMR adult anthropometry references and generates a detailed report on the spot: scores, colour-coded indicators and follow-up recommendations, saved to the patient’s ClinicWala health record. It is a screening assessment, not a diagnosis — the conclusion belongs to the examining clinician.

Use cases

Where the e-clinic uses it

Community screening camps

Fast, repeatable nutritional screening for whole communities — the device is built for clinics, camps, hospitals and field programmes alike.

Undernutrition programmes

MUAC and circumference tracking supports screening for protein-energy undernutrition where it matters most.

Metabolic-risk screening

Waist-hip ratio and central-obesity indicators (Asian-Indian cut-offs) support screening for diabetes and cardiovascular risk.

Follow-up over time

Because every assessment lands in the record, a dietician or doctor tracks nutritional change across visits.

Features

What the device does

Comprehensive measurements

Weight and height (BMI), MUAC, waist and hip, calf and thigh, head and chest circumference — and more, captured digitally.

Automatic data capture

Measurements stream from the connected instruments into the assessment in seconds — no transcription, no slips.

AI-assisted analysis

The AI evaluates nutritional and metabolic health together, flagging what needs attention and what needs a clinician.

Instant structured report

A malnutrition score and a metabolic health score, colour-coded assessments, risk analysis and a clinical conclusion — generated on the spot.

Personalised recommendations

Diet, activity and follow-up suggestions matched to the findings, ready for the dietician or doctor to confirm.

Benefits

Why it matters

Early detection, both directions

Undernutrition and obesity-driven metabolic risk both show up in the same screening — before either becomes a crisis.

Objective and repeatable

Standardised measurements against WHO/ICMR references, so two operators in two villages produce comparable results.

Built for the field

Fast and non-invasive — ideal for clinics, camps, hospitals and community programmes.

A record that accumulates

Assessments live in the ClinicWala health record, turning one-off camp readings into a nutrition history.

How it is used

A reading, step by step

  1. 01

    Take the key measurements

Weight, height, MUAC, waist, hip, calf and more — guided by the device.

  2. 02

    Data captured automatically

Secure digital capture in seconds; nothing is written down or retyped.

  3. 03

    AI analysis

The AI evaluates nutritional and metabolic health against adult anthropometry references.

  4. 04

    The report is generated

Scores, colour-coded indicators, risk analysis and recommendations — reviewed and concluded by the clinician.
