Ingredients

2 cup of quick cooking rolled oats (Jaee)
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (Haldi)
1 teaspoon of mustard seeds (Sarson/Rai)
½ cup of onions, chopped
¼ cup of carrots, chopped
¼ cup of green peas
2 tablespoon of coriander (dhaniya), chopped for garnishing
3 teaspoon of oil
1 teaspoon of split black lentils (Urad dal)
5-6 of curry leaves (Kadi patta)
2-3 of green chillies, chopped
Salt to taste

Procedure

Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan.
Add oats, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and cook on a medium flame for 3-4 minutes or till it turn light brown in colour. Keep aside.
Heat the remaining oil in pan and add mustard seeds to it.
As the seeds crackle, add in mustard seeds (Sarson/rai), split black lentils (urad dal), curry leaves (kadi patta), and green chillies.
Cook for 1 minute.
Add onions and cook for another minute, till the onions turns translucent.
Then, add carrots, green peas, and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the oats mixture, salt, and remaining turmeric powder (Haldi).
Cook for 1 minute with constant stirring.
Add 1 ½ cup hot water, lower the flame, cover the lid, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
