- 1 cup of yellow split moong dal/ golden lentil
- 1 cup of white urad dal
- ½ cup of split green gram dal/split green moong dal
- ½ cup of orange masoor dal/ red lentil
Method
- Wash all dals thoroughly and soak them in enough water.
- Let it stand for 4-5 hours or overnight.
- Drain the water if in excess and grind the dal in small batches, say 2 cups at a time.
- Grind well to form a smooth batter.
- Add a tablespoon of water to aid grinding if necessary.
- Let the batter stand for 15 minutes, and then it is ready for use.
- Add salt just before making the dosas.
- Heat a non-stick griddle and grease it lightly with oil.
- Pour batter on in a circular motion.
- Add a little amount of oil.
- Cook on both sides till it becomes golden brown.
- Serve with green chutney.
