Ginger-garlic curry
Ginger-garlic curry is a fragrant and savoury dish prevalent in Indian and Southeast Asian cuisines. It consists of ginger, garlic, and spices cooked in a curry sauce with vegetables,. It contains are vitamin B6, C, K, B-vitamins, and fiber.
Ingredients 13
- 2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoon of ginger, finely chopped
- ½ -1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (Haldi)
- 1-1.5 tablespoon of mustard oil
- 1 cup of soya chunks (Nutrie) OR gatta (OPTIONAL)
- 3-5 finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds (Jeera)
- 1-1.5 tablespoon of mustard oil
- ½ teaspoon of garam masala
- 1 cup water
- salt as required
Method
- Heat oil in the cauldron (Handa/Kadhai).
- Add cumin seeds, let them crackle.
- Add onion, ginger, garlic, and green chilli.
- Fry till the colour turns light brown.
- Then add tomato and mix well.
- After a minute or two, add salt, turmeric, and garam masala to it.
- Mix well.
- Cook with occasional stirring, till the oil starts separating out.
- Add soya chunks or gatta (if using).
- Now add water and simmer the gas.
- Allow it to boil for 4-5 minutes.
